What file formats are supported?
LedgerXpert supports PDF (digitally generated & scanned with OCR), TXT, RTF, and RPT files. For best results, digitally generated PDFs are recommended.
Which banks are supported?
We have specialized parsers for HDFC, SBI, ICICI, and 30+ other major Indian banks. If your bank isn't listed, our Universal Prompt System can manually map columns.
What is the Universal Prompt System?
A fallback mechanism that activates when automatic parsing fails. It lets you view raw data, set delimiters, and manually map columns to standard fields.
What does the AI enhancement do?
AI enhancement improves parsing accuracy for complex statements using the OpenRouter API. It helps with multi-line descriptions, varied date formats, and better amount detection.
How is my data handled and protected?
Statements are processed on secure servers, stored temporarily, and can be deleted anytime. We never use your data beyond providing the service. AI enhancement sends only non-identifiable text.
Common Issues & Solutions
Password-Protected PDFs
Our system cannot process password-protected PDFs. Please remove the password before uploading.
Scanned PDF Quality Issues
Scan quality significantly affects OCR accuracy for scanned PDFs.
- Ensure the scan is clear and high-resolution
- Avoid skewed or blurry pages
- Prefer digitally generated PDFs when available
Parsing Failures
If automatic parsing fails, try these solutions:
- Manually select the correct bank instead of auto-detect
- Enable AI enhancement
- Use the Universal Prompt System to map columns
- Try a different file format
